The October 2016 Chemist Licensure Examinations, conducted by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), was held on October 4 & 5, 2016 in the cities of Manila, Cebu, And Cagayan de Oro. Two working days later, the PRC announced that there were 559 passers out of the 1,019 takers. Of these 559 passers, 57 passers were from the Institute of Chemistry, University of the Philippines-Diliman. This yielded a passing rate of 95.00% which made the University of the Philippines-Diliman the top performing school in this year's Chemist Licensure Examination.
Additionally, two of the Institute of Chemistry's graduates, Meliton Romero Chiong III and Lizette Sanje Mella, garnered the fifth (88.50%) and sixth (88.25%) highest ratings, respectively.
The UPD Chemistry Board Passers were recognized during Pasinaya: Alay sa mga Bagong Pasa, hosted by the UP Chemical Society, held last October 14, 2016 at the ChemRez Room, Institute of Chemistry, UP Diliman.
